Aluth Para sinhala essay
One day a survey team came to our village and measured the ground and marked the ground with wedges. Villagers said a new road would be built across the village. Some wanted the road to be cut and some to protest.
A convoy of heavy vehicles arrived in the village. People came to the village working with modern machinery such as dozers, stone rollers, etc. Many in the village also went to work on the road.
Gradually the weeks and months passed. The new road was completed forever. The new road was a very wide road with about four lanes. It was named the Southern Expressway.
The first expressway in Sri Lanka was built through our village. However, pedestrians, motorcycles, bicycles and three-wheelers are not allowed on the road. Entrance gates have been set up to enter and exit the road. This unique road starts from Colombo Kottawa and ends in Galle.
Vehicles traveling on the road are allowed to travel at a maximum speed of 100 km per hour. Tolls are charged for using the road.
Southern Expressway has been designated as Road No. E01. Let’s go to Colombo soon along this road.
